Rojo Closet

Rojo closet's latest collection includes many gorgeous items that have caught my eye. In particular, I am so attracted to the dresses!

Loving this white and simple dress. The mesh, see-through sleeves adds a little sexy touch to this simple piece, making it perfect for a dinner party with the girlfriends.

RM 79

Absolutely love these chiffon dresses! I can't decide which is nicer; the sweet pink, angelic white or baby blue. These soft colours will be sure to brighten your day. I reckon these are perfect to hit the malls on the weekends!

RM 60

The little black dress with a tulip-cut skirt. The cutting of this dress emphasizes the body shape and the tulip bottom lets you show off those long gorgeous legs. Pair it with a pair of pumps and you're ready to rock that party ;)

RM 69

A good pair of long pants are great when you have to be in air-conditioned rooms all day long. Especially if your lecture halls are always freezing and there's nothing you can do about that centralized air conditioning. Loving the pockets and the waistline on this pair.

RM 69

This cream-coloured dress is suitable for both work and the parties. Gorgeously tailored with the empire line. Loving the details on the top part of the dress!

RM 85

Head over to Rojo closet to get your hands on these gorgeous pieces now! :)

T.G.I.F!!

Heh, you guys must have thought that I've gone bonkers because I'm going TGIF when it's not even Friday yet! Fear not readers for I am still aware of the day of the week (although I must admit that I have difficulty keeping up with the dates as I've been a drama-catching-lazy-bum lately).

Let us go back to the main topic here. *clears throat* As I was saying, the TGIF in context actually refers to "Thank God I'm Fabulous", a new blogshop in the online shoposphere. Here's the million dollar question: what do the fabulous need to be their fabulous self? Why, dresses of course!

Everybody needs a little black dress in the closet, and here's something with a dash of sexiness at the back. Throw on a cardigan or a blazer for the dinner, and dump that cardigan for the club afterwards. Perfect, ain't it?

RM 43
RM 43

The best part about a scrunched bodycon is that it hugs you in all the correct places, giving you the perfect hourglass look, and has this incredible ability to hide your tummy!! I kid you not! This piece in nude is already sold out, and the same one in black is available in limited stock, so better hurry up!

RM 59 (Nude)
RM 59 (Black)

As opposed to the rather revealing black dress, here's a white angelic dress. The flowy layers emphasizes this simple yet sweet piece.

RM 59

This toga dress can be easily paired with a blazer for the office, or for the year-end company dinners on its own. Yet another simple but stunning piece.

RM 43

Hurry up and head over to TGIF now for these gorgeous pieces (and more)! And the good news is, they are offering FREE shipping for ALL items. Yes, you've heard (or rather, read) that right! And if you buy 3 items and above, you'll get an additional 10%! What are you waiting for? *winks*

A belated post

So, remember my last random post? Click here to refresh that memory of yours. =) I did those 4 steps religiously for 3 weeks, I think. And results are.... I think I look the same. Based on my thoughts, it could be more beneficial for those whose acne vulgaris severity is at Grade III - IV, whereas my skin was just Grade I to II. As you can see, I think a lot based on how many times I mentioned thinking or think or thoughts.

Moving on, most people living and breathing on Earth suffers from mild to moderate to severe cases of acne at many points of their lives. I mean just the occasionally huge zit on your nose or chin is just utterly ....sad =(

Thus, a few random facts for you to read through on another boring day of your life!

1. Acne is an inflammatory disease of the follicles of your skin which all started from a bacteria called
     Propionibacterium acnes.
2.  Poor hygiene does not cause acne. Use mild-cleaning regimen (low-irritant, pH-balanced, soap-free, oil-free products. Washing 2 times a day is great. Not too many times as it'll traumatize thy skin.

3. Chocolate causes spots is false as there is no proof that any food causes acne. Healthy normal diet is warranted as its to keep your body healthy as a whole person.
4. Stress does not cause acne but it can make it worse.
5. Gels and solutions are more useful on oily skin as they have a drying effect.
6. Dry skin on the other hand will benefit from creams instead.
7. Lotions are great on large areas of skin such as upper trunk and neck.
8. There is no such thing as a 'quick fix' even prescribed medicines will take weeks to show results.
9. Do not squeeze thy pimples no matter how tempted you are to. Resist the temptation is all I can say! Preventing scars is better than trying to cure them. ( No sure cure for scars- decrease its prominence on your skin maybe)

As it inevitable that we're aging as every second passes by, we need to care for our own skin. If we don't, who else would? Hahahaha

The main reason which prompted me to write a post - a very belated one. Sorry! *drumrolls* V's birthday is TODAY! That's right, our beautiful unnie is turning twenty - years old! Graduation ceremony two more day from now. So, sad I can't be there to take photos with you all in your gowns or whatever their called! Partially envious and partially proud and definitely happy! Plus, on getting a job of thy dream! (JAPAN-like) I really hope you will do well on your work-life and love-life too! This is another start of a new chapter of your life V! Do spare some of your time to update us here on egs, ok? Love you tons and don't miss me too much hahaha

HAPPY BIRTHDAY!

Corporate Chic: A visit to J's wardrobe

Hello, chicas!

We'd like to thank our reader, J, for submitting this series of photos for this week's Corporate Chic. J is our reader from Australia and she works as an accountant in a privately owned firm. I shall speak no more and let you feast your eyes on these amazinggg photos.

White tank top (Esprit)
Faint pink belted cardigan (MNG)
Patterned leggings (ASOS)
Pink laced up loafers (Korean blogshop on YesStyle.com)
It is very true that when you enter the working world, the Monday blues bugs are attached to you immediately and they never leave you till the day you retire. Hmmm, might not be true for certain people though. I tend to think that artsy people (eg. interior designers, photographers) love their jobs. Ok, back to J, she told us that she usually avoids wearing black on Mondays to get rid of her Monday blues and make her day brighter.

Mesh & satin dress (Vera Moda)
Cream & orange suede pumps (Vincci)
A simple dress is always the perfect way to go when you're feeling a little lazy to play mix and match.
Black sweater top (Calvin Klein)
High waisted belted pencil skirt (Forever New)
Black stilettos (Diavolina)
Wednesday's outfit was more formal for J had meetings with clients so she's stuck with the usual black attire that can never go wrong.

Black & white striped long sleeves shirt (Korean blogshop on Gmarket)
Dark navy cargo pants (Ralph Lauren Jeans)
Leather belt (MNG)
Tan oxfords (UrbanOutfitters.com)
You tend to feel a little excited on Thursday as weekend is fast approaching. Here, J settled for something less formal.
White tank top (Country Road)
Blue striped blazer (ZARA)
Pleat-front shorts (Country Road)
Leather belt (MNG)
Tan wedges (Wittner)
TGIF! Time for a more relaxed outfit so J threw on a pair of shorts. I must say that I absolutely love that pair of wedges. Actually, I love every pair of her shoes!
Don't you all just LOVE these pictures? You all have to agree with me that she has a great sense of style! J must be secretly doing a part time job as a supermodel! Well, I'm glad J sent us these photos because accoutants are often stereotyped as dull but J proved this statement FALSE!

Do send us your Corporate Chic pictures at eat.gossip.shop@gmail.com

Stay tune for more! xx

Corporate Chic III

Hey,

Hope you guys aren't bored of our corporate chic posts by now cause i'll be sharing another one. I actually blogged about what's appropriate for office wear and what's not here. Time really flies and already i'm in the work force but here's a little confession: i still don't have the slightest clue what i should wear to work. haha.

Like M, I am also an engineer. Like her, I have an office job and i spend my entire day in front of the computer running simulations and what not. Luckily i'm working in a pretty casual office. You would never ever see anyone in a suit and you will see a few people in jeans even on days other than casual fridays. But I like dressing up, so I do enjoy looking for nice clothes to wear. But at the same time since I'm pretty new to the job I keep to safe items like structured work dresses and buttoned shirts with skirts.

Monday

First day of the week. As usual, there's the slight monday blues as the weekends are never long enough! But to brighten up my day, i'm wearing a new dress that i just bought over the weekend. I'm attempting to add more colour into my pretty dull looking wardrobe and yes, many of you are probably thinking that the dress is gray and not exactly very brightly coloured but there are tinges of pink! haha. It counts to me! Anyway, got this dress at Dressing Paula (which i just discovered btw and i must say i'm loving their clothes! I think there's only one branch in KL which is in Sunway Pyramid. So do drop by and have a look see!)

Tuesday

Decided to go for a simple shirt + skirt combo today. I'm wearing a buttoned shirt from Dorothy Perkins and a high waisted pencil skirt from Seed. Bought the skirt recently during Isetan member's day (i work in KLCC so there's nothing better than going crazy in Isetan during my long friday lunch break. hehe). And i actually got the skirt for 50% off which is pretty great and i'm loving the skirt! Have been wearing it every week since i got it.

Wednesday
Another simple work dress. The dress is also a recent purchase (i'm starting to feel a bit embarrassed as it seems that most of my clothes are recent purchases. if that is not a clear sign that i'm a hopeless shopaholic what is??). Anyway, got the dress during my recent trip to Singapore in this random shop in Wisma Atria. Can't remember the name and again I LOVE IT!!! hehe.

Thursday
Another work dress! This is the dress that i usually wear when i'm feeling LAZY!! It's very comfy (cause it's actually one size bigger. hehe). So i usually just throw it on when i'm feeling sluggish. and by thursday i'm usually a bit sluggish. haha. But i must admit that i look a bit sloppy when i'm wearing this dress as it is bigger but it's still formal enough i guess. Anyway, the dress is by fashionlab which i also purchased from Isetan during member's day.

Friday
Casual fridays!! On casual fridays i would usually take out my floral dresses. Hehe. Here i'm wearing a floral dress that i purchased from Double woot ages ago! One of my fav dresses as it's very comfy and looks good!

And writing this post makes me realize that i'm one of those people who remember tiny details about each of my purchases. Haha. I think you can just randomly pull out a dress from my closet and i will tell you all about its history, from where i got it to how much i paid for it.

Anyway, I'm just going to echo my fellow blogmates and urge all of you to let us know what you wear to work!

Whitesoot

Couldn't resist to share this gorgeous dress from Whitesoot's latest update.

RM 55

Love how it's formal enough to wear to work, and yet it could be very well be worn for a dinner or for even a gossip session at starbucks. I'm just so in love with this piece; loving both the design and the colour!!
Unfortunately for me, the dress is catered for sizes UK8-10 which means that it probably won't be as body-fitting as I would prefer it to be. Sadly, I guess I won't be the lucky owner of this piece..

Available in black as well.

Its that time of the year....

when the teens start to go off to their year 12 balls. ahhh memoriessss

And have you all read the recent Corporate chiq? Its pretty cool and I find it really convenient because I often run out of ideas what to wear to work. Worst case scenario, just accessorize and you will still dazzle your colleagues in those long meetings and workshops.

Okay, back to proms/balls. I started doing my research and apparently there are HEAPS of it on ebay. Unfortunately, most of the nice dresses that I like required a postage of $450.

Then, what method was most effective, word of mouth of course! I asked around and most mentioned an online shop called ASOS. After much searching, I actually found a few good bargains. I tell you its the perseverence ladiessss!! The greatest bonus of all, shipping is free!! I kid you not!!!

Here are the few good ones I saw. They are absolutely gorgeous. More for evening wear rather than a ball but it still looks awesome (***note prices in AUD***):

A$68.50
NOW A$37.85

A$270.38
NOW A$135.19
 ASOS Mesh Waterfall Bandeau Dress
A$68.50
NOW A$28.84

And best of all, they cater for the petite, curvy and pregnant. I love how somebody understands ta woman's needs. Plus, judging by the contrast of colour in the material, it looks comfortable and for a price like that, it is soooo worth it.

If you wish to have a more 'princessy' ball and decide to splurge a little ( and after all, it's your big day so why not!! =) ), I did come across a few like these, which I thought were fantastic from TarvyDas. Absolutely breathtaking. These can be ideas of your future weddings to any of you lucky ladies out there (***note prices in AUD***) :

A$598

Then you have the ones that are simple yet ultimately shows off the figure, for A$395

Another reasonable site I saw (with a postage of US$29 to Perth), are Dresses Online. Originally from America, I would say their style is superbly diversified. Plus, the wonders of the quality (***note prices in US***):

From left to right,  DQ8034-Formal Gown, A-10017 , and N3042

All just US$99!! Talk about great savings. It doesn't end there. There's always that 'sales' button we all love.

 From left to right, IVORY-GOLD-XL (US$49), PURPLE-SIZE-10 (US$49) and IVORY-MEDIUM (US$39)

Yup so that's all for today my lovely girlfriends. If you have any ideas where to shop for ballgowns around Australia, tell us!!! We are always open to ideas and suggestions.

Finally, have a greatttt weekend and I think I hear the beach calling my name. woohoo!

Love, K.

Corporate Chic II

HI and welcome to our Corporate Chic section. Something new we are trying out and I guess all of you have gotten a feel of what this section will feature already from the first entry.

I'm pretty new to my workplace, only 3 1/2 months into the job as an engineer and I have to say its been interesting. My job does not require me to be outside and mainly involves sitting in front of the computer doing calculations. In my workplace, there is no strict dress code and you can wear just about anything as long as it is decent (covers just enough of all the right places :P). Because of this freedom, I really have headaches thinking of new outfits every day to the point that sometimes I wish they just gave us uniforms and forced us to wear it. But of course as a shopaholic and fashion junkee, freedom to dress gives me more excuse to shop and also be more adventurous in what I wear.

So for MONDAY, I definitely was down in the dumps with Monday blues and thus chose a dark grey dress to go with my mood and pairing it with a black blazer.

Dress | nichii
Blazer | BCBGeneration

For TUESDAY, I remembered waking up and having a hard time thinking of what to wear and because I was in a hurry, I just pulled whatever that has been ironed recently and this is what I came up with.

Top | Sg. Wang bargain
Skirt | Vintage

This below would be WEDNESDAY's outfit. It was a rainy day so me being afraid of the cold made sure that I was fully covered and prepared for a day in the office.

Dress | Sg. Wang bargain
Blazer | MNG

On THURSDAY, I was attempting the pastel look to brighten up my choice of clothes and this was what I wore.

Top | MNG
Skirt | Doublewoot

And finally, the best day of the week is here, FRIDAY! Usually on Friday's, people in the office usually wear the company t-shirt as part of T-shirt day, but I sometimes opt to dress up because it always makes me feel better :D

Top | Padini
Skirt | Nicole

Basically, this is what I wear to the office everyday and of course every week I try to mix and match whenever possible to avoid the usual "Oh NO! There's nothing left for me to wear". This is basically to control my shopping, so I really try to pair more tops with bottoms to get varieties of outfits. But sometimes, a simple dress is the best because you don't have to crack your head to think of what to pair it with!

SO you have ventured into my one week at work and how do you like it so far? We would love to hear your comments on our new ideas and also hope to get any feedbacks on what else you would like to see. It has been fun contributing to this column and we will definitely come up with more. Look forward to Corporate Chic III when you check back the next time. Till then!
